San Francisco Bay Ferry Services

The following ferry lines terminate at either the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero, or at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, where passengers can transfer to MUNI’s F & E Historic Streetcar line, private transit service, or walk to Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing.

Alameda Ferry.  Operated by San Francisco Bay Ferry. Go to http://www.sanfranciscobayferry.com.  Ferries stop at the San Francisco Ferry Building and Pier 41 in Fisherman’s Wharf.

Angel Island Year-Round Service.  There are two separate companies providing regular service to Angel Island State Park. The first is operated by the Angel Island Tiburon Ferry.  Go to http://angelislandferry.com/ or call 415.435.2131.

The other provider is the Blue and Gold Fleet.  Go to http://www.blueandgoldfleet.com/ or call 415.705.5555.

Larkspur Ferry.  Operated by Golden Gate TRANSIT. Offers ferries from Larkspur and the North Bay.  All ferries terminate at the San Francisco Ferry Building. Go to http://goldengateferry.org/schedules/Larkspur.php or call 415.455.2000.

Oakland Ferry.  Operated by San Francisco Bay Ferry.  Go to http://www.sanfranciscobayferry.com.  Ferries stop at the San Francisco Ferry Building and Pier 41 at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Sausalito Ferry.  There are two separate Sausalito Ferry options.  The first is operated by the Golden Gate Ferry.  All ferries terminate at the San Francisco Ferry Building.  Go to http://goldengateferry.org/schedules/Sausalito.php or call 415.455.2000.

The other provider is the Blue and Gold Fleet.  Go to http://www.blueandgoldfleet.com/ or call 415.705.5555.  Routes stop at the San Francisco Ferry Building and Pier 41 at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Tiburon Ferry.  There are two separate Tiburon Ferry options.  The first is operated by the Golden Gate Ferry.  All ferries terminate at the San Francisco Ferry Building.  Go to http://goldengateferry.org/schedules/Tiburon.php or call 415.455.2000.

Vallejo Ferry.  Operated by San Francisco Bay Ferry.  Go to http://www.sanfranciscobayferry.com.  Ferries stop at the San Francisco Ferry Building and Pier 41 at Fisherman’s Wharf.

OTHER

In addition to the public transit routes listed above, privately-operated transportation services such as taxicabs, limousines, pedi-cabs and ride-sharing services such as Uber or Lyft, will provide direct service to Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing upon request.  Click here for information about other transportation options.
