Directions

Driving from the South

To reach Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing from the south, take Highway 101 North and follow the signs towards the Bay Bridge. Take the 4th Street exit, then merge onto Bryant Street from the right lane. Follow Bryant St. to The Embarcadero. Turn left onto The Embarcadero and continue north approximately 1.7 miles (2.8 km).

Driving from the North

To reach Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing from the north, take Highway 101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge. Take the Marina Boulevard exit and follow the signs onto Marina Blvd. Follow Marina Blvd. to Bay Street. Turn left onto Bay St. and stay on Bay St. all the way to The Embarcadero. Turn right on The Embarcadero. Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing is on your left.

Driving from the East

To reach Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing from the east, cross the Bay Bridge into San Francisco. Take the Fremont Street exit, and turn left onto Fremont St. Follow Fremont to Howard Street, and then turn right on Howard St. Follow Howard to The Embarcadero. Turn left onto The Embarcadero and continue north approximately 1.7 miles (2.8 km).

Commercial Parking Lots

There are fifteen commercial lots within a five-block radius of Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing with a total of more than 3,000 parking spaces.

On-Street Parking

On-street parking in the Fisherman’s Wharf area can be difficult to find, especially during the peak summer visitation season, and nearly every street space has a parking meter. Visitors should also be aware of day of the week and hourly restrictions, and know that meter hours are also restricted anywhere from 2-9 hours, depending on where you park. (A visit to Alcatraz and back takes a minimum of 3 hours.) We strongly suggest you take public transit or arrange to be dropped off and picked up at Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing. Accessible Parking

For visitors with special needs arriving by private automobile, Pier 33 Alcatraz Landing is fully accessible with an “Accessibility Drop Off Zone”, located at the entrance to Alcatraz Landing. There is limited accessible parking at Pier 33, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Individuals need to show their permanent or temporary disabled parking placard at the entrance to Alcatraz Landing to utilize the accessible parking spaces.
